The TROY A5 Defender is our highest-level Defender rifle, built to be ready to go right out of the box.
The A5 mid-length barrel is chambered in .223 Wylde with a 1:8 rifling twist. The TPRS 3-prong suppressor-compatible flash suppressor offers the exceptional flash mitigation you expect from a 3-prong muzzle device and accepts the TROY line of silencers.
We’ve equipped the TROY A5 5.56 Defender with the enhanced TROY Gen2 SOCC rail. Derived from our Special Operations Compatible Carbine project, the SOCC is designed around the needs of America’s toughest gunfighters. M-LOK® panels cover the surface so you can mount the attachments you need to fulfill your mission. The 3-, 6-, and 9-o’clock panels are knurled to increase positive control on the carbine during weapon manipulation. The Gen2 SOCC locks to the A5’s mil-spec barrel nut with our innovative quad-lock system, so your rail mounted devices won’t shift zero.
Additionally, our gas-diverting Pneuma Ambi Charging Handle has been added to further improve your experience. The Pneuma is an essential for suppressed shooting, keeping harmful gasses out of your face to keep your focus on your target. The A5 Defender package includes our duty-proven Angled Foregrip, ergonomically shaped and designed for exceptional grip.
The upper and lower on the A5 are each forged from a block of 7075 aluminum and mil-spec hard coat anodized. The best-in-industry B5 Bravo Stock ensures the A5 Defender locks into your shoulder for improved accuracy and control during rapid shooting. And an included set of TROY’s legendary folding BattleSights ensure you have the toughest combat proven BUIS on the market so you can make the shot when it counts.
Our Super Grade trigger group consists of a polished nickel Teflon hammer and trigger with TROY’s best-in-industry precision ground EDM cut hardened tool steel disconnector. The Super Grade trigger provides unquestionable dependability, positive reset, and clean, crisp release.
