Manufacturing Engineer

Summary: Troy Industries is seeking a talented and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our manufacturing processes and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our operations.

Competencies / Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and systems to enhance productivity, minimize waste, and ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, design engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Design and implement new tools, fixtures, and equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues and non-conformities.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process control plans.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production personnel to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to evaluate new technologies and materials for use in manufacturing processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in manufacturing engineering and implement relevant improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in lean manufacturing projects.


  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or comparable military or industrial experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or relevant position, preferably in  firearms or related industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD & PDM software (SolidWorks preferred). Experience with CNC programming is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, metal fabrication, and assembly.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP software (Epicor preferred).
